Peptide payment processing rates

ResearchPay publishes its ranges: about 6–9.5% per transaction for retail (B2C) research-use-only sellers and about 4–6% for wholesale (B2B) suppliers. Where a business lands depends on history, documentation and volume. Every rate is subject to underwriting.

These are the ranges ResearchPay publishes for research-use-only peptide merchants. They are a planning guide, not a quote.

Retail (B2C)Selling to individual researchers online~6–9.5%, subject to underwritingStandard: site, catalog, labeling, fulfillment
Wholesale (B2B)Supplying labs, institutions and resellers~4–6%, subject to underwritingDeeper: buyers, contracts, supply chain, history

What moves a rate within the range?

  • Processing history: clean prior statements with low refund and dispute ratios.
  • Documentation: complete entity, ownership, supplier and certificate-of-analysis records.
  • Website: a site that already reads as a research supplier.
  • Buyer type and order pattern: identifiable business buyers and repeat orders tend to price lower.
  • Volume and average order size.

Why wholesale usually prices lower than retail

Wholesale buyers are businesses that can be identified and verified, orders tend to repeat, and disputes are less common. The file is reviewed in more depth, so the bank knows more about the business it is taking on. Retail sales to individual buyers carry more dispute exposure, which is reflected in the higher range.

How to compare offers fairly

A headline rate is only one part of the cost. Before signing with any provider, ask for these in writing:

  • The per-transaction rate and any per-item fee.
  • Monthly, annual, gateway or statement fees.
  • Chargeback and retrieval fees.
  • Reserve: percentage, duration and release schedule.
  • Settlement timing: how many days until funds reach the bank account.
  • Early termination terms.

Subject to underwriting

All pricing and terms are subject to underwriting. Rates, reserves and processing limits are set by the acquiring bank after review of the application and history. ResearchPay does not quote a final rate before that review.

Frequently asked questions

What are ResearchPay's rates?

About 6–9.5% per transaction for retail (B2C) sellers and about 4–6% for wholesale (B2B) suppliers, both subject to underwriting. The final rate is set after underwriting.

Why is there a range instead of one number?

The acquiring bank prices each account after reviewing its documentation, processing history, volume, average order size and buyer type. Stronger files tend to land lower in the range.

Are there other fees?

Possibly, depending on the bank and the account: for example per-item or monthly fees, chargeback fees, or a reserve. All of them should be listed in the written terms before going live.

Why do peptide merchants pay more than mainstream retailers?

The bank carries more risk with specialized categories, and fewer banks accept them. Pricing reflects that risk and the deeper review the account requires.
